]]> The EU Commission has published on July comprehensive guidance on the Unfair Contract Terms Directive (available here). The main purpose of this Guidance is to present, in a structured way, the interpretation which the Court of Justice of the European Union has provided on the key concepts and provisions of the UCTD (Council Directive 93/13/EEC on unfair terms in consumer contracts), in light of specific cases dealt with by the courts of the Member States.

On a related note, the Commission also recently published recommendations for a better presentation of information to consumers (available here). These recommendations primarily apply to an online context where there is no direct physical interaction with the consumer.
